Rest, without leaving them alone

Our caregivers take the weight for an afternoon, a day, or a week, so you can work, travel, see your own family, or just sleep in without worrying.

Written first

Every plan is put in writing and approved by you before a caregiver starts.

Family caregivers carry an enormous load, usually without complaining about it, and burnout is hard on both people in the house. Respite care hands that load to a trained professional for a defined stretch of time, planned well in advance or arranged quickly when life doesn't give you notice.

  • Coverage by the hour, the day, the week, or on a standing schedule
  • A full handoff briefing so nothing about the routine is guessed at
  • Personal care, meals, and medication reminders while you are away
  • Companionship and activity so the day is not just supervision
  • Overnight and weekend respite available
  • Notes on how the stretch went, waiting for you when you return
  • Emergency respite when a family caregiver falls ill
  • The option to convert to ongoing care if it works well

Is it time?

Signs families call us about

If one of these has been true for a while and you've been quietly carrying it, that's reason enough to call. You don't need to wait for a crisis to ask for help.

You cannot remember your last day off

Exhaustion in the primary caregiver is the most common reason care plans fail.

A trip or procedure is coming up

Booking respite in advance is far easier than scrambling.

Your own health is slipping

Caregiver illness turns one person needing care into two.

A real break

Rest for you, continuity for them.

Questions

Respite Care: the details

How far ahead do we need to book?

A week of notice makes scheduling easy, but we handle short-notice and emergency respite regularly. Call and ask.

Will they follow our routine exactly?

Yes. We take a detailed handoff from the family caregiver (meals, medications, sleep, quirks, what soothes and what upsets) before the first shift.

Can respite become permanent?

Often it does. Many long-term clients started with a single week of respite.

Rather just talk it through?

One short call is usually all it takes to know what fits. No forms, no script.
